CHILDREN from a north Derbyshire primary school will swap textbooks for swings on Monday to celebrate the newly refurbished facilities at a playground.
Pupils from Brockley Primary will take part in an opening ceremony putting the equipment at Stanfree Recreation Ground through its paces.
Theys will be joined by local councillors, officers and representatives of funders at Clowne Road, Bolsover.
New climbing equipment, swings and an overhead carousel have been built as part of the £95,000 project.
The project was initiated and managed by Old Bolsover Town Council.
Funding came from several sources, including a grant of £55,868 from The Veolia Environmental Trust awarded through the Landfill Communities Fund.
Old Bolsover Town Council clerk Andrew Tristram said: “We are proud of the play provision in Bolsover and it will be a real asset to the local area.”
