TAKE a walk on the wild side!
Youngsters donned their warm winter clothes to seek out mini beasts, build dens and enjoy a nature trail in woodland on the doorstep of their Sheffield school.
The fun event at Loxley Primary School, Loxley, was held to encourage more people into the land they have renamed Robin Wood – after the area’s connection with legend Robin Hood.
Helen Hornby, of the River Stewardship Company, attended to work with children and helped them start the art of willow weaving.
She said: “There was a good turnout.
“The woodland has been cleaned up and turned around so it is all about encouraging people who live nearby to use it.”
The event was organised by the school’s Parent Teacher Association and mum Lynn Denton.
Parents also donated refreshments for hungry adventurers.
