Prehistoric beats, a terrifying T-Rex and gigantic dinosaur bones gave youngsters a history lesson with a difference.

The University of Sheffield transported 500 schoolchildren back in time to the Jurassic period as academics launched this year’s Children’s Festival.

Pupils met living relatives of reptiles and birds which are millions of years old and explored footprints, fossils and a life-sized model of a T-Rex head during the Dinosaurs are Dynamite session.
