YOUNGSTERS from a Sheffield school experienced sport Paralympic-style as part of the big countdown to this summer’s games.
Pupils at Westfield Sports College, Beighton, tried their hands at goalball, sitting volleyball and visually-impaired football.
The Sainsbury’s sponsored event, titled the One Million Kids Challenge, aims to get one million children taking part in Paralympic sports this year.
Workers from the supermarket’s Crystal Peaks store visited Westfield with the equipment needed to get them going.
In total, 16 schools in the south east of the city have signed up for the challenge.
Teacher Chris Saunders said: “Our pupils were really excited to have the opportunity to try out a Paralympic sport. We hope that by taking part, they will get a better understanding of the Paralympic games.”
