Pupil Daiwei's a poster boy for recycling and caring for the environment
THE young winner of an Environment Day poster competition has drawn a scary parallel between worlds with and without recycling.
Veolia Environmental Services and The Star teamed up for the competition, which attracted entries from schools across the city.
Winner Daiwei Lang from Nether Green Junior School was picked as the winner with his vivid design of what the world will look like with and without recycling.
Daiwei's poster will be professionally produced and placed in all wildlife trusts across the country.
The 11-year-old has also won 2,000 for his school's IT department and a trip to the Natural History Museum and Sheffield's local Wildlife Trust.
Pupils were asked to picture the world in a different way and draw a poster for World Environment Day on the topic of 'Your Planet and Recycling'.
Standards were so high the judges also picked a special second prize winner, Hannah Gillyon, aged eight, from Brookhouse Junior School.
