A SHEFFIELD schoolgirl presented a top award to city MP David Blunkett after youngsters hailed him a Champion Role Model.
Sheffield High School pupil Roisin Meleady-White was chosen for the task because of her work with disabled children.
Thousands of children and young people voted for the Brightside and Hillsborough MP due to his work for disabled children.
He was also presented with a sculpture created by city artist Andrew Vickers.
Roisin told the MP how she had assisted a group of disabled and non-disabled children to put together DVD presentations for the Northern Irish Assembly.
She also helped out at workshops which were designed to give them a bigger say in disabled policy issues.
