Pulling pints aged 93 is perfect tonic
MOVE over Betty Turpin!
South Yorkshire pub boss Colin Davock has the most experienced bar staff around... his two barmaids at The Grove Inn on York Road in Doncaster have a combined age of 186.
Lizzie Stocks and Gladys Fulton are each aged 93 but are still pulling pints behind the bar.
For Gladys, working for Colin is a bit of role reversal - because she employed him 30 years ago while she was the landlady of The Bay Horse in Bentley.
Lizzie also knows all about pubs, having run The Olde Castle Hotel in Market Place for many years.
Colin, a youngster at 51, said: "It's absolutely fantastic that I can still work with Gladys. She's a brilliant barmaid and everybody loves her.
"She and Lizzie always get remarks from the customers who can't believe they are both 93.
"They are both excellent at their jobs and look fantastic for their age."
The pair work at The Grove Inn every Wednesday.
