A MEETING is to be held in Doncaster next month to discuss swingeing government and council cuts and their effect on people’s lives.
The gathering, entitled Save Our Services: Fighting for Women and Children, will be held at The Danum Hotel on February 20.
A spokesman said: “This year’s government policies will ensure the welfare state will face its biggest attack ever – ensuring those who it protects will become even more vulnerable.
“Women and children are undoubtedly the biggest victims of the cuts, job losses and changes to benefits.”
Speakers at the meeting, which starts at 6.30pm, will include Dot Gibson, president of the National Pensioners’ Group, and Gareth Lane, branch secretary of the South Yorkshire Unite Community.
