Pub licence is suspended
A ROWDY South Yorkshire pub has been temporarily closed after concern about disorderly punters spilling into the street outside.
Police asked Rotherham Council's Licensing Department to hold a review of the licence at The Wetherby, in Park Hill, Swallownest, following repeated incidents.
The licence has now been suspended before a hearing takes place on Thursday.
PC Dave Thompson, Rotherham's licensing officer, said incidents continued to happen regularly despite months of trying to work with the pub's licence holder to tackle crime and disorder issues.
PC Thompson said: "This is the first time we have closed a public house using these laws."
