The pub is one of the best places to meet a partner in Sheffield, a new survey has claimed.
More than 25 per cent of people in the city – one of the highest rates in the UK – claim to have met their partner at the local.
The study was carried out to promote the Two Together Railcard, which provides discounts on rail tickets for people travelling as a pair.
More than 2,000 people across the UK took part in the survey.
People from Sheffield who took part said they believe some of the most important factors to a lasting partnership include good conversation and discovering new places together.
Nationally, sharing chores, regular date nights and a similar taste in films were also seen as positives, as well as regarding your partner as your best friend.
Andrew Robertson, for the Two Together Railcard, said: “It’s refreshing that today’s perfect relationship is based on simple things such as meals out, travelling together to new places, daily kisses and telling each other ‘I love you’ before going to sleep.”
Habits revealed to be a turn-off included bad driving and leaving dirty clothes on the floor.
