TRADE unionists are planning a protest in Sheffield on the day councillors vote on plans to make more than £80 million of cuts over the coming financial year.
The demonstration will take place outside the Town Hall from noon on Friday, March 4, with guest speakers.
Hundreds are expected to attend the event, organised by Sheffield Trades Union Council, and trade unions the GMB, Unite and Unison.
Members of Sheffield council will gather at 2pm to debate, and vote on the authority’s budget for 2011/12.
Councillors have said cuts to jobs and services will minimimised but unions fear hundreds of posts will be axed.
