A protest will be held outside Sheffield Town Hall today to demonstrate against the EU trade deal that campaigners fear will sell off the NHS.
The People’s NHS group has been campainging over the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership and will spin a giant ‘wheel of misfortune’ as part of their demo today to signify how the Government is gambling with the NHS.
Some fear the controversial deal will mean private companies could sue the Government for billions of pounds if it tries to take privatised health services back into public hands in the future.
More than 2,500 people have signed a petition calling for the NHS to be excluded.
However those negotiating the deal say it does not require opening public health services to the NHS.
