A HISTORIC building could be fitted with the latest eco-friendly technology if a bid for a £26,000 grant is successful.
The Friends of Millhouses Park are applying for funds from the Energyshare fund, run by British Gas and environmental organisation River Cottage.
Applications are subject to a public vote on the internet.
If the bid wins, solar panels, insulation and a ground heat pump would be fitted at the old corn mill in Millhouses Park, being refurbished with a National Lottery grant.
The mill project is the second scheme in Sheffield seeking funding from Energyshare, after plans for hydro electricity at Jordan Dam on the River Don.
