TRAINING to help jobless Sheffield residents into work has received a funding boost.

The Nottingham building society, which has two branches in Sheffield, has donated £4,803 towards the Southey and Owlerton Area Regeneration scheme.

Sandra Brammall, branch manager at its Firth Park branch, said: “SOAR’s mission is to enable and support local people through partnership working, to improve the quality of life for residents.

“We recognise the importance of the work groups like SOAR do in our community and because of this we are delighted to support them.”

The money will help SOAR’s project to provide access to debt advice and employability programmes.
