PARENTS and carers in Sheffield who are thinking of returning to work but may lack the confidence to take the first steps can now get help from a new project.
Sheffield Information Link has launched its Wider Opportunities for Work Project aimed at assisting people in some of Sheffield’s most deprived areas.
Parents and carers enlisting with the project will spend a total of 10 hours on a course that will include study, activities, work placements or volunteering.
Trudy Smallwood, deputy chief executive of SIL, said: “We believe they will all have skills gained from bringing up a family and running a home that can be applied in other places.
“We aim to show them they can do other things.”
The WOW project is being funded by a National Lottery grant.
