The investigation into the cause of a house fire which killed a Sheffield couple is set to continue today.

Fire broke out in a 17th century farmhouse in Spout Lane, Stannington, in the early hours of yesterday - killing an elderly couple in their 90s.

Named locally as Len and Freda, the pensioners' bodies were found by firefighters once the house was deemed safe to search.

One body was found close to the door to the property.

Neighbours have spoken at their shock at the deaths, describing the couple as 'friendly, sociable and kind'.
