An investigation is underway into a burglary at a community centre in Sheffield.

The Lodge Community Centre in Hackenthorpe was broken into sometime between Tuesday and Wednesday.

A door was forced to gain entry and items including computers, a projector and small amounts of cash were stolen.

There was also an attempted burglary at a dental surgery in Main Street, Hackenthorpe, overnight on Tuesday into Wednesday.

Inspector Jason Booth, of South Yorkshire Police, said: "It's really disappointing that a facility for the benefit of the local community, particularly young people, has been attacked like this."

Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident 353 of June 22.
