Residents who have spent decades giving up their spare time to improve their neighbourhoods were given a presentation.
Kath White, Gary Harford and Mavis Berry, who are stepping down as long-term members of Barnsley Federation of Tenants and Residents, were thanked for their hard work.
The trio received small gifts as a thank you for their efforts during a presentation attended by Lord Mayor of Barnsley, Coun Ken Richardson.
The honours were given out at the annual general meeting of the federation at Shaw Lane Rugby Club.
The AGM was opened by Coun Richardson and was attended by over 90 people.
The theme of the event was Vision for Barnsley and speakers included Coun Steve Houghton, Barnsley Council leader.
At the event, the federation also presented MacMillan with £574 raised at monthly coffee mornings.
