Barnsley’s new museum and discovery centre have been praised by a TV personality.
Antiques expert Eric Knowles congratulated the residents of the town for creating ‘a living archive’ of its past, after visiting Experience Barnsley.
He was guided through the exhibits and display areas by Terry Sykes, a member of the Barnsley Town Hall attraction’s engagement trust.
The star of the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow was shown hands-on and interactive exhibits that encourage visitors to explore the people and places of the borough.
Eric said: “Experience Barnsley has without question set the benchmark standard for all future regional museums.
“It is skilfully woven into the present day by the inspirational use of modern-day technology.”
