Sheffield’s Women Of Steel statue appeal campaigners celebrated smashing their fundraising target by scooping a major award.
It won gold for best integrated campaign at the 2014 CIPR Yorkshire & Lincolnshire PRide Awards.
John Palmer, lead fundraiser, said: “This award belongs to everyone who supported the appeal.”
The appeal has raised £170,000 for a statue honouring the women who kept the munitions factories going while their men fought in two World Wars.
Sheffield city centre-based HR Media won the best low budget campaign award for Going for Gold, promoting the South Yorkshire School Games.
