PLANS to relocate a post office have led to concerns the move could cause road safety problems near a school.
The branch at Aston is set to be moved from its current site on Worksop Road to the convenience store in Lodge Lane, following the retirement of the sub postmaster.
The Post Office says the move is on a 12-month trial basis and the service would be monitored to see if it met the needs of the local community.
But Aston Parish Council members are worried about lack of car parking and an increase in traffic volumes near the village primary school.
They have also written to the Post Office to ask if management approached the Co-op about incorporating the post office in its store at nearby Swallownest instead, which councillors believe to be more suitable.
