A popular path through the Peak District from Hathersage to Sheffield has been closed for restoration.
Work on Long Causeway will improve drainage and repair the badly eroded surface along a 700 metre stretch, near Stanage Edge.
Repairs, being carried out by Derbyshire County Council with the Peak District National Park Authority and Natural England, will continue until August 31.
The path will be closed from 7am to 5pm from Monday to Friday and 7am to 12pm on Saturdays.
Derbyshire Coun Andy Botham said: “We need to carry out work to improve the safety of the route for all types of users.
“We know it is a popular route with for mountain bikers and where possible will keep the existing features where it is safe to do so.”
