The Sheffield Poppy Appeal Launch will be held at the Town Hall next weekend.

Royal British Legion members will carry out a short service at 10.30am on Saturday October 24, during which they will hand over the first Poppy to Lord Mayor Coun Talib Hussain.

Volunteers are still needed for this year’s appeal. The Royal British Legion is looking for people to give two hours of their time to the cause between October 32 and November 7.

Community Fundraiser Danny Dance said: “It is a very rewarding feeling knowing that you’re giving your time to help HM Armed Forces and their families to live on.”

If you’d like to volunteer, email Danny at ddance@britishlegion.org.uk or contact RBL direct by searching Yorkshire Poppy Appeal on Facebook.
