A pop up café is to open in Sheffield city centre on Monday to boost community projects across the world.
The Twin Café project will open a temporary site On Union Street to sell coffee from Sheffield’s twin city in Esteli in northern Nicaragua.
For one week customers will be able to use the café to order a range of coffees from the Central American town and decide who they would like their profits to benefit both there and in Sheffield.
Sarah Murphy, founder of Twin Café, said: “The Twin Café project was born from three Sheffield University students who visited Esteli and wanted to do something practical to help.
“Since launching the scheme in October we have sold the coffee in established cafes and have raised more than £1,000 for charities in Sheffield and Nicaragua.”
The venue will also host various events throughout the week.
