SHADOW Education Secretary Stephen Twigg has been on a visit to Sheffield where he was shown around schools and children’s services by David Blunkett.
The Brightside and Hillsborough MP and former Education Secretary invited Mr Twigg to ‘showcase’ the work going on in the city to improve standards despite cutbacks.
Mr Blunkett said: “Stephen Twigg’s visit was a great opportunity to display the work we have been doing in education in Sheffield.”
The politicians met staff from youth service Sheffield Futures, council leader Julie Dore and cabinet member for children’s services Coun Jackie Drayton.
They also visited Arbourthorne Community Primary School, where Mr Twigg received a tour of the school met staff and pupils.
