Burnley police are appealing for witnesses following a violent disturbance between locals and Sheffield Wednesday football fans.
Trouble erupted in Burnley Miners’ Club at around 6pm on Saturday following the Championship match between Burnley and the Owls which ended in a draw.
Police confirmed damage was caused but could not confirm reports that a Wednesday fan had been struck with a glass.
Reports claimed glasses had been thrown between fans and the club was closed following the disturbance.
Insp Duncan Arthur said: “Officers were called to a distance in the Burnley Miners’ Club around 6pm following reports of a confrontation between football fans.
“However, many of the people involved had dispersed and no arrests were made.”
