Police are searching for the driver of a car which failed to stop after hitting an eight-year-old girl
The youngster was struck by a black car on Sheffield Road, Killamarsh, at 4.30pm on Friday but the driver of the vehicle failed to stop.
She was taken to Sheffield Children’s Hospital, where she was treated for minor injuries.
Derbyshire Police spokeswoman said: “At around 4.30pm on Friday, eight-year-old pedestrian was in collision with a black car on Sheffield Road.
“The girl was taken to Sheffield Children’s Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.
“The car left the scene of the collision before emergency services arrived.
“Police are trying to trace the vehicle and its driver as part of their investigation.”
