The two men had made the long-trip down south on Saturday to watch as Barnsley sank to a 2-0 defeat against high-flying Norwich.

And it wasn't plain sailing for the two fans either who had decided to take a photo of themselves in a nearby boat.

However, the two men soon found themselves in hot water when the boat slipped down into the river; eventually needing to be rescued by the river police.

A spokesperson for Norfolk Police said: "At approximately 1pm Broads Beat patrol boat was near to Bishopsgate when they found two males drifting in a small boat with no means of reaching the bank.

"They had sat in the boat on the slipway to take a photo and it had slipped down into the river. Boat owner did not wish to make any complaint. Words of advice was given.”
