Police name man killed crossing South Yorkshire road

A man killed crossing a road in South Yorkshire has been named today.

Robert John Kolt, aged 64, from Bramley, Rotherham, was killed in a collision with a car as he crossed Doncaster Road, Dalton, on Saturday night.

He was struck by a blue Honda Civic outside Silverwood Miners Welfare Club.

The Honda was travelling towards Thrybergh at the time of the crash.

A 20-year-old man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been bailed pending further enquiries.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Officers investigating the collision remain keen to hear from anyone who saw what happened, or who saw the manner of driving of the Honda prior to the collision."
