Police name elderly pedestrian killed in collision in Sheffield

An elderly Sheffield woman who died after she was struck by a car has today been named.

Doreen Walker, aged 85, was hit outside the Walkley Cottage pub, Bole Hill Road, Walkley, on Saturday, November 21.

She died in hospital one week to the day later.

Mrs Walker was struck by a silver Honda Civic and was taken to hospital.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “Mrs Walker and a silver Honda Civic were involved in a collision in Bole Hill Road, outside the Walkley Cottage pub.

“Mrs Walker, who is from the Walkey area, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital where she sadly died on Saturday,November 28.

“Her family are receiving support from specialist officers.

“Officers continue to appeal for witnesses to the collision and to those who stopped following the collision to come forward.”
