Officers have arrested a person in connection with an incident during which a naked man was brandishing what is believed to have been a kitchen knife in the street in the early hours of this morning.

Police were called out to Station Road, Chesterfield just after 5.40am this morning.

A Derbyshire Police spokesman confirmed a man had been arrested in connection with the incident, but added no further information could be given at this stage.

Eye-witness Andrew Butler said he saw a naked man holding what he thought was a '12 inch kitchen knife' being apprehended by officers in Station Road, near to the Whitmoor roundabout.
