South Yorkshire Police supported a day of awareness over domestic abuse held across the country yesterday.
Nineteen police forces backed the Peace One Day campaign on social media aimed at highlighting public protection issues and raising awareness of domestic abuse.
College of Policing national domestic abuse co-ordinator DCI Steve Jackson said the college was pushing to improve standards.
He said: “Victims need to have confidence in the police service but we must accept that we cannot do this in isolation.
“Partnerships across the entire profession is key.”
