THREE buses were damaged by yobs who hurled stones and other missiles at them from a bridge.

The buses came under attack as they drove along Sheffield Road, Killamarsh.

At 10.45pm on Tuesday a number 49 Veolia bus had its window smashed when it was hit as it passed the bridge.

The Sunday before another bus had its windscreen smashed as it approached the same bridge at around 9pm.

And on Sunday January 30 a bus carrying passengers suffered minor damage when it was also struck by missiles.

A number of other incidents have been reported on Sheffield Road and Bridge Street over the last few weeks.

Sgt Tony Klenczar, in charge of the Safer Neighbourhood Teams, said: “This type of behaviour is dangerous and completely unacceptable.

“It is a miracle no-one has been hurt. We are working with the bus company and are carrying out operations and surveillance to prevent further incidents taking place.”
