Police officers are looking for witnesses to an attempted street robbery, by a man who crept up on a woman from behind and tried to grab her handbag.
The 31-year-old woman was walking along Lansdowne Road in Brimington, Chesterfield, when she was accosted, but managed to run away from the would-be robber and keep hold of her bag.
She escaped from her ordeal unharmed and reported it to police.
The offender was wearing a dark, woolly type hat and is thought to have fled towards Brimington.
Witnesses, or anyone with information about the incident, which happened between 5.55am and 6.20am on Friday, should call Derbyshire Police on 101.
