POLICE have highlighted three separate incidents of trouble at Sheffield University students’ union ahead of a review of its licence next week.

The licence is under review after an 18-year-old student was seriously injured when she was hit by a bus outside Bar One in Glossop Road following an all-day cut-price drinks party.

Previous incidents include about 20 students attacking door staff in Februray, up to 15 students involved in a disturbance in July which saw a security worker hit in the face and bitten and two men taken to hospital because they were so drunk in October.

The review gives Sheffield Council, the licensing authority, a number of options with regards to Bar One, including revoking its licence to sell alcohol.

The university said it was co-operating fully with the police and the council.
