A SPONSORED walk completed by 41 South Yorkshire Police workers, family and friends raised £5,000 for three charities.
The colleagues and friends completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks walk in aid of Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice in North Anston, Macmillan Cancer Support, and Rotherham Hospital’s Diabetes Education and Resource Centre.
Dick Briers, who works for South Yorkshire’s Police’s major incident team, has organised the 25-mile walk for around 20 years.
The latest walk took the group members between nine and 11 hours to complete.
Rotherham’s District Commander Chief Superintendent Richard Tweed and Dick Briers presented cheques to the fundraising group’s chosen charities during a ceremony at Rotherham’s Main Street police station.
