A POLICE car was set on fire during an incident in a Sheffield suburb.
Officers had been called out to Staniforth Road, Darnall, at about 11pm last night, when their Vauxhall Astra patrol car was attacked.
A spokesman for South Yorkshire Fire Service said: “Firefighters were called out to deal with the blaze, which had been started deliberately.
“The inside of the car was well alight when the crew arrived.”
Nobody was hurt in the fire.
Staniforth Road was closed after the fire while investigations were carried out.
South Yorkshire Police have not yet revealed details of the incident they were attending before the car was set on fire or whether any arrests were made.
