Police car involved in collision with pedestrian in Sheffield

A woman was hit by a police car responding to an incident in Sheffield.

The 61-year-old was struck at the junction of Greenland Road and Barleywood Road, Darnall, at 1.35pm on Thursday.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said the police car, a white Vauxhall Astra, was travelling along Greenland Road towards Darnall at the time of the collision.

The female pedestrian sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital.

A police probe into the collision is now under way.

The car involved was marked up with South Yorkshire Police badges.
