THE LABOUR candidate bidding to become South Yorkshire’s first elected police chief has visited Doncaster to speak to party officials.

Shaun Wright spent time with MP Rosie Winterton and Doncaster Council’s Glynn Jones during his visit.

Mr Wright – a serving JP who is currently vice chair of the South Yorkshire Police Authority and a Labour councillor – is standing to be South Yorkshire’s first elected police chief this November.

He said he planned to spend as much time as possible meeting residents.
