Residents working together to secure the future of a community hall in Sheffield are appealing for more support.
A public meeting to attract new volunteers to run the Miners’ Welfare Community Hall in High Green will take place at the Angram Road centre on Thursday, March 27.
It comes following the successful We Love High Green event at the venue, designed to showcase the potential of the hall as a hub for clubs and activities – with everything from line dancing to a martial arts on offer.
Volunteers and councillors say they need to ensure the hall’s future success by encouraging more people to become involved in its day-to-day running.
Darren Ward, Sheffield Council community development worker in High Green, said: “We are looking for local people to come forward and express an interest, either by becoming part of a new shadow management committee, or by offering equally valuable practical support to help in the day-to-day running of the hall.
“Anyone interested in the future of the building is invited to come along.”
The meeting starts at 6.30pm.
