A DONCASTER pet lover has suffered a double blow after finding their home had been burgled and a young puppy stolen at the same time.
Police are appealing for information after the break-in at the property on Oliver Road, Balby, earlier this week.
The burglary happened on Monday, between 4.15pm and 5.30pm. The occupant of the house came home to find the kitchen door had been forced open and the property searched.
A police spokesman said: “The puppy is six weeks old and is a Staffordshire bull terrier crossed with a Labrador.
“It was part of a litter of 11 but was the only one taken.”
Other items were also stolen, including a DVD player, mobile phone and cash.
