Businesses in Sheffield are urged to get behind an inspirational sports event being held in the city.
At the Westfield British Transplant Games hundreds of athletes - all of whom have survived at least one transplant operation - will compete from August 15 to 18 and try to raise awareness of organ donation.
Graham Moore, chairman of the games’ local organising committee and sponsor Westfield Health, said: “With the transplant games coming to Sheffield it’s the ideal time for local businesses to throw their weight behind the cause and make a real difference to organ donation levels in South Yorkshire.”
The Star has backed the Gift of Life campaign to sign up 12,000 new local names to the NHS Organ Donor Register before the games start.
Businesses can get involved in a variety of ways, from hosting organ donation awareness days to volunteering at the games or taking up one of the sponsorship opportunities available.
Organisations already supporting the event include Sheffield Hospitals Charity and the British Heart Foundation.
