RESIDENTS living in Sheffield city centre have opposed plans to extend opening hours in a bar and restaurant complex.
Members of Sheffield City Centre Residents’ Action Group have lodged their objections to proposals to allow businesses to stay open longer in the West One plaza.
Plans have been submitted to Sheffield Council to allow venues to open until 12.30am from Monday to Wednesday, 8am until 1.30am the following day from Thursday to Saturday, and 9am until 12.30am the next day on Sundays and public holidays.
Peter Sephton, chairman of SCCRAG, said: “This is commercial encroachment that will eventually put an end to city centre living for all but the most hardy souls.”
The deadline for the decision is October 4.
