It was the place where generations of Sheffield youngsters learned to ice skate.
The Silver Blades ice rink in Queens Road is fondly remembered by thousands - its cavernous interior the place where scores of city children pulled on their ice skates and gingerly took their first steps - with many promptly falling flat on their faces.
For decades, it was the place to be seen and where dozens of friendships and relationships were formed before it eventually met its demise as a skating rink.
