A Sheffield man who has trained hundreds of press photographers has made the headlines himself – after scooping a top industry award.
Paul Delmar, the retired head of press photography and photo-journalism at Norton College in Sheffield, has been presented with the UK Picture Editors’ Guild Chairman’s Award for his outstanding contribution to press photography.
With extensive experience as a news photographer, picture editor and lecturer, many of the top names in news photography today are Paul’s former students.
Paul, who lives in Halfway, was one of more than 400 press photographers across the country who were judged by a panel of picture editors from national, regional and international newspapers,
The winners of the fourth UK Picture Editors’ Guild Awards were presented with their awards by Nigel Farage MEP at a ceremony held at the Honourable Artillery Company in London.
The ceremony was hosted by BBC journalist and TV presenter Kate Silverton.
