Pharmacy staff in fancy dress

STAFF at the Co-operative Pharmacy, on Herries Road, Sheffield, hope to hit the right note with young carers when they dress up in a ‘Rock Around The Clock’ theme to raise cash for charity.

They plan to turn up for work on Thursday in fancy dress to launch their attempt at raising a record amount for the Carers Trust, which formed last year when The Princess Royal Trust for Carers and Crossroads Care joined forces.

Janet Parden, Co-operative Pharmacy manager, said: “Unpaid caring is an often hidden issue, even though it can affect most families.

“We’re delighted that Carers Trust is our charity of the year, and that we have the chance to make a difference to the lives of young people in our communities who undertake practical and emotional caring responsibilities.”
