Petition for animal rights
ANIMAL rights campaigners based in Sheffield have submitted a 1.5 million-signature petition to 10 Downing Street calling for an end to experimentation.
Representatives from Uncaged, accompanied by politicians from all main parties, delivered the document containing signatures collected over 15 years in towns and cities around the UK.
It calls on the Government to develop a "road map" for the end of animal experimentation.
The petition was submitted as the Government is currently asking for the public's views on animal research ahead of discussions over a new European Union law.
