People want to leave in droves

Have your say

Three murders, a stabbing, several burglaries, car thefts, vehicle break-ins and other thefts on Gleadless Valley in the last few weeks and yet the police are still nowhere to be seen. This used to be one of the most popular areas to live in Sheffield but now people want to leave in droves.

When the local elections were held in May, the number of Labour canvassers and candidates were numerous but now they have been elected they have gone back into hiding.

The only time the police are seen is when a crime is reported. And we hear the chief constable says crime will rise because he hasn’t got the money he wants. All I can say is that it can’t go up much more here without it becoming a no-go area and if he can’t do the job with his budget then he should go and let someone who can.

Deer escaped from the park

Gerard Duprez was asking for information about the deer on Blackamoor. These deer roam Blackamoor and Totley Moss and in the winter you did a feature on them showing my photo of the deer in a field at Totley. In the winter especially the deer can be seen on both sides of the B6054, Owler Bar to Fox House road.

I understand from local people that the deer originally escaped from Chatsworth and have lived around Barlow, Longshaw, Blackamoor and Totley Moss ever since.
