Pedestrian hurt in Barnsley collision

a PEDESTRIAN was rushed to hospital with serious head injuries after he was struck by a car.

The 37-year-old, from Wombwell, Barnsley, was hit by a silver Vauxhall Vectra on Station Road, Wombwell, on Sunday, at 11.15pm.

Police said the pedestrian also broke a leg and suffered internal injuries.

He was taken to Barnsley District General Hospital, where he is still being treated.

Witnesses should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident 1,189 of February 24.
