Pedestrian dies after Doncaster accident

A Doncaster man has died following a weekend road accident.

South Yorkshire Police are appealing for information after the 20-year-old suffered life fatal injuries following a collision in Skellow in the early hours of Saturday.

A red Fiat Punto, driven by a 19-year-old Doncaster man, is believed to have been travelling on the B1220 Hampole Balk Lane, Skellow, Doncaster in the direction of the A1, just befoere 12,30am on Saturday.

The Fiat then collided with a 20-year-old male pedestrian who is believed to have been crossing the carriageway. He has not yet been named.

The pedestrian from Carcroft, sustained serious head injuries and died over the weekend at the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield.

The car driver was uninjured.
